After a rather tough play, THE CRYSTAL SHIP's Mugur Doroftei got a free kick in the 11th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Congo Bongo's Ramiro Blai sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gavril Turceanu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 19 played minutes Congo Bongo got a freekick which was hit by Marcelino Errolan. THE CRYSTAL SHIP's Toader Babeș couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 20th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Congo Bongo. 29 minutes into the match, Congo Bongo's goal looked a bit too open when Basarab Balc came free, but Benicio Poz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benicio Poz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remus Agudaru in the 30th minute of play. In the 36th minute Remus Agudaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benicio Poz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Congo Bongo's Benicio Poz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remus Agudaru in the 42nd minute of play. Hermengildo Olivar hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute, Toader Babeș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

A collision led to Congo Bongo getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Jacobo Raymon hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedro Regis during the 53rd minute.
