Spectators: 7732 (Terracing: 5800, Seating: 1778, VIP seats: 154) KV Schoonwater's Gregorie Kloots started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of MZ Fénix booed when KV Schoonwater was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boris Paelinck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Celso Baía recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 7th minute Reginaldo Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean Van Aerschot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raf De Muysere sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 10 played minutes MZ Fénix got a freekick which was hit by Reginaldo Moreira. The crowd rose to their feet as Gregorie Kloots kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Martinho Nunes. That made the score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. A collision led to KV Schoonwater getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Wim Theunis hit a great ball. In the 31st minute, Raf De Muysere hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 33 played minutes MZ Fénix got a freekick which was hit by Maurício Mansilha. When Celso Baía fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MZ Fénix's protests and gave Celso Baía a yellow card for diving instead. In the 37th match minute, MZ Fénix was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celso Baía to maneuver through the defense. MZ Fénix's Martinho Nunes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save MZ Fénix from getting a goal against them. 44 minutes into the game, MZ Fénix's Vítor Severiano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jean Van Aerschot made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Celso Baía was the one to do the kick off. Gregorie Kloots took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Martinho Nunes. Martinho Nunes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Jean Van Aerschot made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Joel Caeiro sent off a good shot on target. In the 60th minute, Boris Paelinck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 63 minutes, Hugo Bernardes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MZ Fénix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hugo Bernardes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, KV Schoonwater's Jean Van Aerschot got control of the ball when Reginaldo Moreira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jean Van Aerschot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celso Baía in the 68th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, KV Schoonwater's Gregorie Kloots got a free kick in the 72nd minute. After having played for 78 minutes, Joel Caeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MZ Fénix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Caeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. KV Schoonwater's Jean Van Aerschot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celso Baía in the 81st minute of play. MZ Fénix's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Silvério Simões in the 82nd minute. Boris Paelinck charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Boris Paelinck the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. KV Schoonwater:s Jean Van Aerschot showed great skill when he stopped Silvério Simões:s penalty. After 84 minutes of play, MZ Fénix's Silvério Simões made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jean Van Aerschot was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, KV Schoonwater's Jean Van Aerschot got control of the ball when Hugo Bernardes tried to sneak it across the goal line.
