After a defensive mix-up in Inter de Guayaquil FC's zone, Fabrizio Piccirilli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miguel Celama came out of the goal and Fabrizio Piccirilli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valiente Tebar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Flavio Corrente having to make a save. Flavio Corrente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franco Mussoll, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlo Pelati during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Medoacus Maior getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Carlo Pelati hit a great ball. After 22 played minutes Inter de Guayaquil FC got a freekick which was hit by Jerson Casas. A collision led to Medoacus Maior getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Ettore Zollino hit a great ball. In the 25th minute of the match Zunbeltz Inchaurdi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Flavio Corrente skillfully saved the ball. Flavio Corrente came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Inter de Guayaquil FC's Valiente Tebar. But to his dismay, Valiente Tebar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 29th minute of the game, Bernardo Moretta landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. 29 minutes into the game, Valiente Tebar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Inter de Guayaquil FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Medoacus Maior the free kick. A collision led to Inter de Guayaquil FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Valiente Tebar hit a great ball. Franco Nicolai struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Miguel Celama didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Medoacus Maior. Fabrizio Piccirilli recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 36th minute Vera Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Corrente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flavio Corrente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valiente Tebar, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Valiente Tebar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Flavio Corrente. Medoacus Maior's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Valiente Tebar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After 46 played minutes Medoacus Maior got a freekick which was hit by Emilio Campoli.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Franco Nicolai to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valiente Tebar in the 53rd minute of play forced Medoacus Maior's goalkeeper Flavio Corrente to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th minute Valiente Tebar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Corrente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ettore Zollino charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ettore Zollino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 64th match minute, Medoacus Maior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ettore Zollino to maneuver through the defense. In the 66th minute Valiente Tebar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Corrente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Bruno Cabrini the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Medoacus Maior protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Bruno Cabrini had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 73 minutes into the game, one of Medoacus Maior:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 79th minute, Carlo Pelati hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Inter de Guayaquil FC booed when Medoacus Maior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franco Nicolai didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valiente Tebar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Medoacus Maior's Antonello Garibaldi got a free kick in the 90th minute. Franco Mussoll was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 93rd minute. Inter de Guayaquil FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The supporters of Medoacus Maior booed when Inter de Guayaquil FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valiente Tebar didn't get a good kick on the ball.
