The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Edgar Kabonen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alejo Weterio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute, Ain Lepassaar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, AZURDUY F.C.'s Filomeno Firme got a free kick in the 18th minute. A collision led to AZURDUY F.C. getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Julian Ireno hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the match, AZURDUY F.C.'s goalkeeper Ulises Bastian had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pavel Alp. In the 27th minute of the match, Pavel Alp got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ulises Bastian was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 28th minute, Alejo Weterio made a precise shot to the right of Edgar Kabonen. FC FORZA MARTIRE's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. When Filomeno Firme fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AZURDUY F.C.'s protests and gave Filomeno Firme a yellow card for diving instead. 33 minutes into the match, Joosep Vollmer notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of AZURDUY F.C.'s Ulises Bastian. Ulises Bastian was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The AZURDUY F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ulises Bastian should have stopped the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Ulises Bastian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pavel Alp in the 55th minute of play.
