Marcos Fraco made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Severo Fanuco sent off a good shot on target. When Marciano Hartz fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arrecifes's protests and gave Marciano Hartz a yellow card for diving instead. After 30 played minutes Arrecifes got a freekick which was hit by Marciano Hartz. Moises Urbez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Marcos Fraco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, Higinio Luzea had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcos Fraco. Arrecifes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Higinio Luzea was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 39 minutes into the game, Modesto Mikolas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Nunez Astudillo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alberto Refugio charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alberto Refugio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alberto Refugio hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Estrellas de Caballito defense, Modesto Mikolas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nunez Astudillo. The Estrellas de Caballito fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nunez Astudillo should have stopped the shot. The Estrellas de Caballito players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Arrecifes were winning 1-2.

During the 68th minute of the match Alberto Refugio completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Alberto Refugio a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Estrellas de Caballito's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Modesto Mikolas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. The supporters of Arrecifes booed when Estrellas de Caballito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Higinio Luzea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nunez Astudillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Modesto Mikolas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Estrellas de Caballito's Nunez Astudillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Modesto Mikolas in the 96th minute of play. Abel Egoitz hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match.
