The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ruben Sánchez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stasio Tokarczyk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 6 minutes into the match, Magic is Back's goal looked a bit too open when Braulio Ospin came free, but Ruben Sánchez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tetes Titans were awarded a corner in the 8th minute after Magic is Back's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Stasio Tokarczyk took the corner. After taking down the ball on Tetes Titans's corner Stasio Tokarczyk fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ruben Sánchez quite easily take care of the ball. Tetes Titans's Jacinto Navarro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Tetes Titans from getting a goal against them. Martin Palermo might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jacinto Navarro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Martin Palermo ran back to his position shaking his head. Tetes Titans's Jacinto Navarro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Tetes Titans from getting a goal against them. After 14 played minutes Tetes Titans got a freekick which was hit by Matthias Eggers. A sloppy throw-in by Matthias Eggers in the 17th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Magic is Back's Marcelo Trobbiani. In the 19th match minute, Tetes Titans was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Senna to maneuver through the defense. Ruben Sánchez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Braulio Ospin in the 22nd minute of the match. Martin Palermo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Jacinto Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Palermo in the 25th minute of play forced Tetes Titans's goalkeeper Jacinto Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stasio Tokarczyk in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ruben Sánchez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stasio Tokarczyk in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ruben Sánchez saved Magic is Back from getting behind. Ruben Sánchez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stasio Tokarczyk in the 30th minute of play. Tetes Titans's Jacinto Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastián Battaglia in the 33rd minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Magic is Back's goal looked a bit too open when Stasio Tokarczyk came free, but Ruben Sánchez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stasio Tokarczyk made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Palermo in the 52nd minute of play forced Tetes Titans's goalkeeper Jacinto Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Braulio Ospin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ruben Sánchez. That made the score 0-1 in the 53 minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, Tetes Titans's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Palermo came free, but Jacinto Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 59th match minute, Magic is Back was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walter Samuel to maneuver through the defense. Magic is Back made a substitution. Rubén-Darío Feldmann replaced Luis Medero. Jacinto Navarro came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Magic is Back's Martin Palermo. But to his dismay, Martin Palermo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 74 minutes into the match, Tetes Titans's goal looked a bit too open when Gabi Batistuta came free, but Jacinto Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 78th minute, Gabi Batistuta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Sebastián Battaglia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Magic is Back's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastián Battaglia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacinto Navarro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Braulio Ospin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ruben Sánchez having to make a save. 88 minutes into the game, Magic is Back's Gabi Batistuta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jacinto Navarro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. 95 minutes into the match, Tetes Titans's goal looked a bit too open when Gabi Batistuta came free, but Jacinto Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Magic is Back fans cheered their team off the field, for while Tetes Titans had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
