With a little luck, Cityzens Mdz's Gustavo Loreto got control of the ball when Maximino Gonzalez tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 21st minute of the match Cityzens Mdz got a corner. Palermo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Henning Sander ran over to the corner to take the kick. Hillar Tuus made a great header on Cityzens Mdz's corner, it was just that Palermo's Alfredo Joey managed to reach the ball for a save. Alfredo Joey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damaso Lain in the 23rd minute of play. After 25 played minutes Palermo got a freekick which was hit by Isaias Grove. Santiago Mino came free with the goalkeeper in the 27th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gustavo Loreto could save by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arnoldo Medina got free with Gustavo Loreto in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Cityzens Mdz's zone, Marcelino Chaime stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustavo Loreto came out of the goal and Marcelino Chaime tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tanner Ringler hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Gustavo Loreto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saul Felo in the 38th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Damaso Lain managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cityzens Mdz's supporters rose to their feet, but Damaso Lain was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredo Joey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 44th minute, Damaso Lain got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Santiago Mino was the one to do the kick off. In the 57th minute Arnoldo Medina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Loreto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damaso Lain received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alfredo Joey came out and tried to block the shot, but Damaso Lain slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 60th minute. The audience was convinced that Damaso Lain's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfredo Joey was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Palermo's Alfredo Joey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Palermo from getting a goal against them. When Isaias Grove fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palermo's protests and gave Isaias Grove a yellow card for diving instead. Isaias Grove kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Damaso Lain struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Alfredo Joey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cityzens Mdz. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damaso Lain in the 80th minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Alfredo Joey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute of the match Cityzens Mdz got a corner. Palermo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Henning Sander ran over to the corner to take the kick. Gustavo Loreto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Santiago Mino's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. In the 89th match minute, Cityzens Mdz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tanner Ringler to maneuver through the defense. Tanner Ringler kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnoldo Medina in the 92nd minute of play forced Cityzens Mdz's goalkeeper Gustavo Loreto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Cityzens Mdz walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
