Thanks to some nice moves Petr Schejbal could shoot a difficult shot in the 8th minute, which Eugenio Asier however easily saved by the left post. Paulino Lamberto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulino Lamberto got free with Eugenio Asier in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the San Martin de Tucuman defense, Efrain Roldan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cecilio Jax. The San Martin de Tucuman fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cecilio Jax should have stopped the shot. A throw-in in the 17th minute of the game was made by Marco Montel with Esteve Seber as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Paulino Lamberto took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eugenio Asier. With a little luck, CERPA's Eugenio Asier got control of the ball when Petr Schejbal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Paulino Lamberto in the 30thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eugenio Asier, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Mauricio Macías sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of CERPA booed when San Martin de Tucuman was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stig-Inge Joakimsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mauricio Macías fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cecilio Jax having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ivan Copil was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute Victoriano Tonete shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cecilio Jax saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ivan Copil struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Eugenio Asier didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San Martin de Tucuman. San Martin de Tucuman's Carmelo Osoitz was substituted for Luciano Selmo. After a defensive mix-up in CERPA's zone, Carmelo Osoitz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eugenio Asier came out of the goal and Carmelo Osoitz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Victoriano Tonete got free with Cecilio Jax in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eriberto Osasun hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. San Martin de Tucuman's Severino Elorri was substituted for Ubaldo Veto. Ivan Copil's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eugenio Asier read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. After a rather tough play, San Martin de Tucuman's Stig-Inge Joakimsen got a free kick in the 77th minute. San Martin de Tucuman's 庄雄鹏 was substituted for Petr Schejbal. After 78 played minutes San Martin de Tucuman got a freekick which was hit by Stig-Inge Joakimsen. San Martin de Tucuman's Cecilio Jax proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save San Martin de Tucuman from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ivan Copil in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eugenio Asier saved CERPA from getting behind. Victoriano Tonete's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 88thth minute, Cecilio Jax skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ivan Copil in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eugenio Asier prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
