After 9 minutes Viola Invest's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Witomir Arnista who took care of the corner kick. In the 13th minute Stig-Åke Gabrielsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rasmus Sigman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zlatan Malmberg in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dumitru Doloman saved Viola Invest from getting behind. After 16 minutes, Zlatan Malmberg made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Viola Invest's Dumitru Doloman tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Zlatan Malmberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 22 minutes, Stig-Åke Gabrielsson made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Newcastle United F.C.'s Rasmus Sigman tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Viola Invest's Dumitru Doloman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zlatan Malmberg in the 26th minute of play. Dumitru Doloman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zlatan Malmberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute, Ata Bircan made a precise shot to the right of Dumitru Doloman. Viola Invest's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Kuuno Tälli hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Newcastle United F.C.'s Witomir Arnista got a free kick in the 39th minute. In the 44th minute, Ata Bircan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dumitru Doloman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zlatan Malmberg in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Mario Jakobe made the kick off in the second half. Fahhad Al Herz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dumitru Doloman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 50th minute of play. Rasmus Sigman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stig-Åke Gabrielsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. When Newcastle United F.C.'s Zlatan Malmberg in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Dumitru Doloman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joakim Vennerlund in the 81st minute. Stig-Åke Gabrielsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rasmus Sigman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kuuno Tälli in the 91st minute of the match. Mario Jakobe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Viola Invest's zone, Ata Bircan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dumitru Doloman came out of the goal and Ata Bircan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Newcastle United F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Newcastle United F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
