CERRO PORTEÑO's Cãlin Damaschin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jerónimo Leiria in the 20th minute of play. Edgar Zarco got a throw-in 22 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Cristiano Bento. Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Pedroso having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vivaldo Belém in the 28th minute of play forced CERRO PORTEÑO's goalkeeper Cãlin Damaschin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
