The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 44 minutes into the game, one of Seterma Tractors:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Patrik Sikström had in the 47thth minute some difficulties stopping Walery Chojnacki's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

With his leg Pankracy Pyrtek managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Seterma Tractors's Ademir Tande fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Patrik Sikström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boruc Kornatowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Patrik Sikström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osmundo Verdaguer in the 95th minute of the match. When the referee ended the match the Red Bulls players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
