The throw-in from Wu Hong Ning in the 5th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Abuba Akotonon FC's Genaro Elivareo. Abuba Akotonon FC's Vânderson Barbosa got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 15 minutes Congo Bongo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Genaro Elivareo who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Genaro Elivareo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Petre Traian quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 18th minute, Damaso Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Congo Bongo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The supporters of Abuba Akotonon FC booed when Congo Bongo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iker Atarrabi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 23rd minute Damaso Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Orlando Gatti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damaso Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Orlando Gatti having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Damaso Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Damaso Sancho to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes Abuba Akotonon FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Özalp Yavuzalp who took care of the corner kick. Cecilio Tristan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Damaso Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Hugo Orlando Gatti made a huge save. If Iker Atarrabi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 61 played minutes Congo Bongo got a freekick which was hit by Caleb Law. 62 minutes into the match, Abuba Akotonon FC's Genaro Elivareo broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Congo Bongo's Omar Erramun managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Lance Veloz in the 67 minute of the game. Arnaldo Oidor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hugo Orlando Gatti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnaldo Oidor in the 67th minute of the match. Congo Bongo's Omar Erramun managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Lance Veloz in the 69 minute of the game. If Arnaldo Oidor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hugo Orlando Gatti made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Arnaldo Oidor sent off a good shot on target. When Cecilio Tristan came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Abuba Akotonon FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cecilio Tristan couldn't finish the play. Abuba Akotonon FC made a substitution. Ernesto Oxarra replaced Ramiro Rey. Petre Traian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Aurre in the 79th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cecilio Tristan in the 81st minute of play forced Congo Bongo's goalkeeper Petre Traian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iker Atarrabi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Hugo Orlando Gatti made a huge save. 91 minutes in the game Wu Hong Ning did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Caleb Law. The Abuba Akotonon FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Congo Bongo to win.
