Spectators: 7688 (Terracing: 5767, Seating: 1768, VIP seats: 153) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Eusebiu Tuleiu started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute Lars Olofsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastián Sosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 2nd minute, Lars Olofsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. After a rather tough play, FC Inter Sibiu's Filip Cupial got a free kick in the 16th minute. Jörn Danielsson hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Max Mohammads short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Sebastián Sosa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 27th minute Claes Ahlroht shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastián Sosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Max Mohammad in the 33rd minute of play forced FC Inter Sibiu's goalkeeper Sebastián Sosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner led FC Inter Sibiu's Gică Costandache to fire away a dangerous shot which Otto Hermansson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Newcastle United FC's Otto Hermansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusebiu Tuleiu in the 38th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eusebiu Tuleiu in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Otto Hermansson saved Newcastle United FC from getting behind. In the 44th minute Max Mohammad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastián Sosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Max Mohammad made the kick off in the second half. Otto Hermansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kajetan Madajczyk in the 52nd minute of play. Lars Olofsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastián Sosa having to interfere. 58 minutes into the match, FC Inter Sibiu's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Olofsson came free, but Sebastián Sosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kajetan Madajczyk hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Otto Hermansson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sorin Manciu in the 64th minute of the match. In the 68th minute, Kajetan Madajczyk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marko Gustavsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastián Sosa having to interfere. Sorin Mancius short, quick shot in the 74thth minute got Otto Hermansson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Otto Hermansson had great luck who in the 77thth minute grab hold of the ball when Eusebiu Tuleiu from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. FC Inter Sibiu's Sebastián Sosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tord Åström in the 81st minute of play. In the 83rd minute Tord Åström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastián Sosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Eusebiu Tuleiu put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Otto Hermansson. Jörn Danielsson kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. The supporters of FC Inter Sibiu booed when Newcastle United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silverio Teijeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Newcastle United FC's goalkeeper Otto Hermansson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sorin Manciu. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FC Inter Sibiu had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
