The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Australian Youth Academy's goalkeeper Keylor Navas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 31st minute of the match Spams got a corner. Australian Youth Academy's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alfredo Mino ran over to the corner to take the kick. Alessandro Scalia hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Australian Youth Academy's Garth Brough got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rd minute Carolo Nardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keylor Navas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Faustino Jerold showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Garth Brough, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Spams's Alto Jering was substituted for Carolo Nardo. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Garth Brough stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Boyd Allan hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the match, Australian Youth Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Tin Delgado came free, but Keylor Navas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gabriel Martini kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Australian Youth Academy's Keylor Navas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tin Delgado in the 69th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fletcher Baba in the 72nd minute of play forced Spams's goalkeeper Faustino Jerold to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Australian Youth Academy walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
