After 4 played minutes Linköpings AIK got a freekick which was hit by Willy Witarya. Linköpings AIK's Jimmy Olsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto de Lara in the 5th minute of play. Arvid Carlsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antônio Borges having to interfere. Jan-Erik Lundqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Antônio Borges took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan-Erik Lundqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacinto de Lara in the 17thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jimmy Olsson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jacinto de Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jimmy Olsson having to interfere. Antônio Borges made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julien Staffelbach in the 27th minute of play. Linköpings AIK's attentive Tavo Tomat managed to snatch the ball when Tiro Peralta made a throw-in in the 39th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Linköpings AIK defense, Jacinto de Lara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jimmy Olsson. The Linköpings AIK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jimmy Olsson should have stopped the shot. Tavo Tomat made in the 44th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Willy Witarya immediately put the ball in play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Julien Staffelbach made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in PIRATAS TFP's zone, Julien Staffelbach stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antônio Borges came out of the goal and Julien Staffelbach tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. PIRATAS TFP's Antônio Borges proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save PIRATAS TFP from getting a goal against them. 58 minutes into the game, Julien Staffelbach recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Antônio Borges. Julien Staffelbach showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. PIRATAS TFP's Antônio Borges played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julien Staffelbach in the 62nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Julien Staffelbach managed to get in a good position for a shot. Linköpings AIK's supporters rose to their feet, but Julien Staffelbach was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antônio Borges breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jacinto de Lara in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jimmy Olsson saved Linköpings AIK from getting behind. In the 72ndth minute of the game Jacinto de Lara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Linköpings AIK's Jimmy Olsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Eche Centrih fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PIRATAS TFP's protests and gave Eche Centrih a yellow card for diving instead. Eche Centrih hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. After 82 played minutes Linköpings AIK got a freekick which was hit by Tavo Tomat. The throw-in from Tavo Tomat in the 84th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by PIRATAS TFP's Tiro Peralta. Julien Staffelbach could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Antônio Borges made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Julien Staffelbach put it in 2-3 from a short distance just to the right of Antônio Borges. Linköpings AIK played a much better game than PIRATAS TFP and deserved their victory. The PIRATAS TFP players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
