Spectators: 7761 (Terracing: 5822, Seating: 1785, VIP seats: 154) Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto de Lara in the 3rd minute of play. PIRATAS TFP's Antônio Borges proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save PIRATAS TFP from getting a goal against them. In the 12th minute, Jacinto de Lara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aaron Smallwood was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 14th minute Jacinto de Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Smallwood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Santos FC defense, Jacinto de Lara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aaron Smallwood. The Santos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aaron Smallwood should have stopped the shot. Aaron Smallwood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto de Lara in the 19th minute of play. Lanny Gilmore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Antônio Borges tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. PIRATAS TFP's defense didn't have a chance, in the 27th minute, when Lanny Gilmore scored to the left of an out of position Antônio Borges, making the score, 2-2. In the 29th minute, Jacinto de Lara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PIRATAS TFP fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Eche Centrih kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Jacinto de Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Aaron Smallwood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Muhammad Lim fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PIRATAS TFP's protests and gave Muhammad Lim a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Santos FC booed when PIRATAS TFP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Muhammad Lim didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in PIRATAS TFP's zone, Warren Ruiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antônio Borges came out of the goal and Warren Ruiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 45 minutes into the match, Santos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto de Lara came free, but Aaron Smallwood reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aaron Smallwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto de Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. PIRATAS TFP's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Clemente Pires in the 48th minute. The corner led PIRATAS TFP's Clemente Pires to fire away a dangerous shot which Aaron Smallwood despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After the first half PIRATAS TFP were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jacinto de Lara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the match, Jacinto de Lara notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood. Aaron Smallwood was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto de Lara in the 64th minute of play forced Santos FC's goalkeeper Aaron Smallwood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, Jacinto de Lara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The PIRATAS TFP fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-5. 68 minutes into the game, Jacinto de Lara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-6. Aaron Smallwood was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. PIRATAS TFP's Jacinto de Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Antônio Borges showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lanny Gilmore in the 73rd minute of the match. Aaron Smallwood stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacinto de Lara's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Jacinto de Lara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Aaron Smallwood made a huge save. After 86 minutes, Jacinto de Lara made it 2-7 with a short kick to the right side. Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 90 minutes into the match, Clemente Pires dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Aaron Smallwood, 2-8. The throw-in from Eche Centrih in the 93rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Santos FC's Terence Nicholas. Antônio Borges stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tyron Velasquez's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. The Santos FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing PIRATAS TFP to win.
