Santos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tyron Velasquez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tao Xi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Terence Nicholas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 15th minute of the match, Alican İçten got a very nice opportunity to score, but Aaron Smallwood was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 16 minutes Santos FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was David Berkowitz who took care of the corner kick. If Lanny Gilmore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lanny Gilmore in the 19th minute of play forced Flames FC's goalkeeper Tao Xi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lanny Gilmore blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tao Xi having to make a save. Santos FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Alican İçten scored to the left of an out of position Aaron Smallwood, making the score, 1-0. The supporters of Santos FC booed when Flames FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alican İçten didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute, Titus Kohler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Lanny Gilmore's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tao Xi was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Aaron Smallwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camille Trudeau, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After 56 played minutes Santos FC got a freekick which was hit by Vern Pierre. Aaron Smallwood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alican İçten in the 57th minute of the match. Aaron Smallwood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Lopes in the 62nd minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Diego Lopes notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Santos FC's Aaron Smallwood. Aaron Smallwood was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alican İçten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aaron Smallwood read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Flames FC's goalkeeper Tao Xi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Flames FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Santos FC for a fine match.
