After 12 minutes Palestra do Interior's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Yan Chuan Yang who took care of the corner kick. Paulo Godoi might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Artzai Tarin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulo Godoi ran back to his position shaking his head. Orgullo's Artzai Tarin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Orgullo from getting a goal against them. When Paulo Godoi came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Palestra do Interior fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Godoi couldn't finish the play. Yan Chuan Yang got a throw-in 43 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Manole Cristoiu. After a rather tough play, Orgullo's Franco Grau got a free kick in the 44th minute. After 47 played minutes Orgullo got a freekick which was hit by Manole Cristoiu.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manole Cristoiu was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute of the game Jorginho Ferreira made a throw-in which Paulo Godoi played forward. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Paulo Godoi hit a great ball. Paulo Godoi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Artzai Tarin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. A collision led to Orgullo getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Yan Chuan Yang hit a great ball. Palestra do Interior's Eugênio Alagoano was substituted for Moisés Matorin. After 63 played minutes Orgullo got a freekick which was hit by Yan Chuan Yang. Palestra do Interior made a substitution. Niclas Danielsson replaced Hudson Sergipano. Yan Chuan Yang got a throw-in 70 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Manole Cristoiu. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Manole Cristoiu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Orgullo's supporters rose to their feet, but Manole Cristoiu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Allan Varela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vitório Lago blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Artzai Tarin having to make a save. Artzai Tarin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vitório Lago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manole Cristoiu in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Allan Varela saved Palestra do Interior from getting behind. If Vitório Lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Artzai Tarin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vitório Lago in the 82nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Palestra do Interior's Celsinho Vidal got a free kick in the 84th minute. After having played for 86 minutes, Vitório Lago managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palestra do Interior's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vitório Lago was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
