Óscar Cordoba didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gwidon Babicki went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 17 minutes into the match, Gwidon Babicki had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Óscar Cordoba. Sporting de Gijón's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gwidon Babicki was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Óscar Cordoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gwidon Babicki, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 24th minute Gwidon Babicki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Óscar Cordoba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, FC Wingspan's Ulf Lenberg got a free kick in the 25th minute. Kristian Modig made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Matias Bilintx sent off a good shot on target. Óscar Cordoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gwidon Babicki in the 31st minute of the match. Gwidon Babicki might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Óscar Cordoba. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gwidon Babicki ran back to his position shaking his head. Óscar Cordoba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gwidon Babicki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Wingspan's attentive Cristian-Federico Overman managed to snatch the ball when Carlo Crema made a throw-in in the 40th minute of the game. Carlo Crema kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gwidon Babicki made a kick off. Óscar Cordoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gwidon Babicki in the 54th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute Matias Bilintx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristian Modig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Wingspan's supporters rose to their feet, but Gwidon Babicki was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Óscar Cordoba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gwidon Babicki's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Óscar Cordoba read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Gwidon Babicki received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Óscar Cordoba came out and tried to block the shot, but Gwidon Babicki slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 67th minute. Kristian Modig made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Venancio Emesto in the 72nd minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Óscar Cordoba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gwidon Babicki. Cristian-Federico Overman hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Sporting de Gijón's Atilano Feo was substituted for Carlo Crema. After a rather tough play, FC Wingspan's Cristian-Federico Overman got a free kick in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Maradona in the 76th minute of play forced FC Wingspan's goalkeeper Kristian Modig to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute, Gwidon Babicki got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Sporting de Gijón supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC Wingspan's performance. The match ended with a win for FC Wingspan.
