Jose Heredia received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Scarafia Ghost came out and tried to block the shot, but Jose Heredia slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 10th minute. Downchester City's Fumo Canuto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Amorebieta in the 14th minute of play. In the 16th match minute, Downchester City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabio Bouzas to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute Iustin Bâru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fumo Canuto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Jose Heredia dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Scarafia Ghost, 2-0. With a little luck, Go Ahead Eagles's Scarafia Ghost got control of the ball when Jose Heredia tried to sneak it across the goal line. 34 minutes into the game, Go Ahead Eagles's Iustin Bâru nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fumo Canuto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Scarafia Ghost took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jose Heredia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fumo Canuto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Amorebieta, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Jose Heredia might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Scarafia Ghost. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jose Heredia ran back to his position shaking his head. Jose Heredia's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Scarafia Ghost firmly grabbed it by the left post.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iustin Bâru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fumo Canuto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iustin Bâru, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Downchester City's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Andrés Figueroa in the 55th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Downchester City's goalkeeper Fumo Canuto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernando Amorebieta. The corner ended in Cássio Gonçalves almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Downchester City's Fumo Canuto did a great save. In the 60th minute, Jose Heredia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Scarafia Ghost was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Downchester City made a substitution. Manolito Cano replaced Fabio Bouzas. 65 minutes into the match, Go Ahead Eagles's goal looked a bit too open when Jose Heredia came free, but Scarafia Ghost reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Go Ahead Eagles's Erling Lewandowski was substituted for Iustin Bâru. Iakovos Efthimiadis kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. The Go Ahead Eagles fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Scarafia Ghost should have stopped the shot. Fumo Canuto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erling Lewandowski in the 79th minute of play. In the 81st minute of the match Go Ahead Eagles got a corner. Downchester City's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cássio Gonçalves ran over to the corner to take the kick. Downchester City's Fumo Canuto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erling Lewandowski in the 87th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Downchester City fans cheered their team off the field, for while Go Ahead Eagles had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
