The audience thought a goal was coming when Wiktor Kjellqvist got free with Sune Mur in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 14 minutes into the game, U21 Sweden's Pelle Flinck nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sune Mur made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Milan's Sune Mur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pelle Flinck in the 25th minute of play. Sixten Nordström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mats Söderström, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. A collision led to U21 Sweden getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Björn Ahlberg hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Milan defense, Pelle Flinck kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sune Mur. The Milan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sune Mur should have stopped the shot. Sune Mur didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pelle Flinck went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wiktor Kjellqvist to strike the kick off in the second half. The Milan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sune Mur should have stopped the shot. U21 Sweden's King Elin was substituted for Wesley Van Hoojdonk. U21 Sweden's Rickard Lundgren was substituted for Wiktor Kjellqvist. With a little luck, U21 Sweden's Sixten Nordström got control of the ball when Joélson Van Landschoot tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 66th minute Mats Söderström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sixten Nordström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 68 minutes of play, U21 Sweden's Peanut Lord made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sune Mur was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sune Mur was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rickard Lundgren made a great header on U21 Sweden's corner, it was just that Milan's Sune Mur managed to reach the ball for a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Peanut Lord in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sune Mur saved Milan from getting behind. The U21 Sweden support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
