Marcelo Eger was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 14th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Rômulo Amaral hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marco Bezerra during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 21st match minute, Castanheiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Bezerra to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of MAZER SAF booed when Castanheiro SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovani Madureira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ángel Romero went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Rômulo Amaral heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. A collision led to Castanheiro SC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Luisinho Seco hit a great ball. João Carlos Fantini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Doni Seco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Geovani Madureira was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 96 minutes had been played. After 97 played minutes Castanheiro SC got a freekick which was hit by Geovani Madureira. The MAZER SAF supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing MAZER SAF would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
