With a little luck, Deportivo Ortegano's Eustaquio Ondino got control of the ball when Erik Thorvaldsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 20th minute, Hulk Fenomeno ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eustaquio Ondino was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Eustaquio Ondino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulysses Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elano Lobado in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Melquiades Amor saved CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA from getting behind. Deportivo Ortegano's Eustaquio Ondino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genko Balevski in the 39th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Genko Balevski made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronald Vordenbäumen got free with Melquiades Amor in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Melquiades Amor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronald Vordenbäumen in the 59th minute of play. Erik Thorvaldsson hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Melquiades Amor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ignacio Gaig in the 70th minute. The supporters of Deportivo Ortegano booed when CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erik Thorvaldsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Deportivo Ortegano's Arif Bilge İstemihan was substituted for Manex Maja. When Erik Thorvaldsson fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's protests and gave Erik Thorvaldsson a yellow card for diving instead. The corner ended in Socorro Chavez almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Melquiades Amor did a great save. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
