When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Adérito Pinheiro sped through Valiant F.C's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Chiquinho Aparecido. Valiant F.C's Chiquinho Aparecido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adérito Pinheiro in the 22nd minute of play. Alexandre Eanes kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, GD Almargense's goal looked a bit too open when Stanyo Kobakov came free, but Claudemiro Tristão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stanyo Kobakov in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudemiro Tristão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Idalécio Veloso kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Claudemiro Tristão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stanyo Kobakov in the 41st minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Celso Eiró made the kick off in the second half. Chiquinho Aparecido stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Celso Eiró's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. After a rather tough play, Valiant F.C's Stanyo Kobakov got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After some careless play in the GD Almargense defense, Stanyo Kobakov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claudemiro Tristão. The GD Almargense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claudemiro Tristão should have stopped the shot. GD Almargense made a substitution. Carlos Vides replaced Benedito Rebelo. Chiquinho Aparecido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Vides, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind GD Almargense's goalkeeper Claudemiro Tristão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

After resting during the break, the players from both teams went out on the field looking very concentrated. It was now first half of the overtime. Stanyo Kobakov made the kick off and play began. Claudemiro Tristão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stanyo Kobakov, who was totally free with the ball in the 107th minute. António Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 111th minute of the match. Both sets of players were looking tired when the whistle went to end the half. Everyone was pleased to get a few minutes to rest before extra-time resumed.

Claudemiro Tristão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stanyo Kobakov in the 121st minute of play. Valiant F.C's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
