In the 42nd minute, Antonio De Schutter made a precise shot to the right of Venancio Oto. Punta Alvear's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Venancio Oto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uxio Sobrado in the 46th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Inocencio Frichoso was the one to do the kick off. Venancio Oto made a fantastic save in the 50th minute, when Peru Diaz sent off a good shot on target. After 62 minutes of play, Punta Alvear's Inocencio Frichoso made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lei Bin was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of AFC United booed when Punta Alvear was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Venancio Oto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Punta Alvear's Domingo Cordarrel got a free kick in the 92nd minute. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Faustino Asprilla took a quick shot and it went in 1-8 without a chance for Venancio Oto to make any attempt to save it.
The AFC United players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
