An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniz Lam in the 42nd minute of play forced Modlau's goalkeeper Lukasz Traczewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Redbourn AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Zlatin Ibrahimović made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Fabian Smolarek managed to get in a good position for a shot. Modlau's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabian Smolarek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felix Amin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Redbourn AFC booed when Modlau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Czeslaw Miecznikowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felix Amin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zlatin Ibrahimović, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
