Moath Al Sarraf blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fermin Onofre having to make a save. A hard shot 20 in the game by Moath Al Sarraf from a close distance when the talented Fermin Onofre managed to make a qualified save. La Cantera Mexicana's players were relieved. After a rather tough play, La Cantera Mexicana's Julian Eleder got a free kick in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basem Al Hadad in the 35th minute of play forced La Cantera Mexicana's goalkeeper Fermin Onofre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Basem Al Hadad could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Fermin Onofre made a huge save. Fermin Onofre stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Basem Al Hadad's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. After a rather tough play, La Cantera Mexicana's Eduardo Chayo got a free kick in the 47th minute.

The wind increased when Alejo Frasco made the kick off in the second half. Bashar Al Shemali kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Cipriano Eladio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Shabeb Al Khames tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fermin Onofre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moath Al Sarraf in the 67th minute of play. In the 69th match minute, La Cantera Mexicana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julian Eleder to maneuver through the defense. 76 minutes into the match, Moath Al Sarraf had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fermin Onofre. La Cantera Mexicana's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Moath Al Sarraf was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After 85 played minutes Al-Wasl SC got a freekick which was hit by Adem Al Mosawe. La Cantera Mexicana's Eduardo Chayo couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 86th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Al-Wasl SC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moath Al Sarraf in the 87th minute of play forced La Cantera Mexicana's goalkeeper Fermin Onofre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fermin Onofre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moath Al Sarraf, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The tension between the La Cantera Mexicana and the Al-Wasl SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fermin Onofre was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
