With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zayveon Mazariegos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Odważni's goalkeeper Korneliusz Wieloch, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luis-Antonio Quiñones charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luis-Antonio Quiñones the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Odważni booed when Mesere was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis-Antonio Quiñones didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Odważni's zone, Edgard Maya stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Korneliusz Wieloch came out of the goal and Edgard Maya tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Radomir Budarz came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Odważni fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Radomir Budarz couldn't finish the play. In the 22nd match minute, Odważni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jurand Pyrtek to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd minute of the match Edur Villota shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Korneliusz Wieloch showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 25 minutes, Zachary Dudek managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Odważni's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zachary Dudek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Xosepin Uruñuela made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zachary Dudek got free with Zayveon Mazariegos in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. During the 56th minute of the match Luis-Antonio Quiñones completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Luis-Antonio Quiñones a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The Mesere fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zayveon Mazariegos should have stopped the shot.
