Grzegorz Bierfass could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Totyo Popisakov made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Crusaders of Dark's zone, Grzegorz Bierfass stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Totyo Popisakov came out of the goal and Grzegorz Bierfass tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tobías Izamit got a throw-in 13 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Alfonso Sotta. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonso Sotta in the 14th minute of play forced Crusaders of Dark's goalkeeper Totyo Popisakov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anton Björnberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimitar Berbatov, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Dimitar Berbatov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anton Björnberg. Inter de Chillán's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dimitar Berbatov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The audience was convinced that Grzegorz Bierfass's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Totyo Popisakov was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. In the 32nd match minute, Crusaders of Dark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Viden Belovezhdov to maneuver through the defense. Totyo Popisakov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After the first half Crusaders of Dark were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Dimitar Berbatov scored 1-3 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anton Björnberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Totyo Popisakov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Abel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grzegorz Bierfass scored 2-3 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Totyo Popisakov, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Inter de Chillán's Rickard Erserman was substituted for Samuel Abel. Inter de Chillán's Eladio Araujo was substituted for Grzegorz Bierfass.
