The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lionel-Andrés Messi struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Uriel Ferrer showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Godfredo Gau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henk Jonckers having to interfere. Defensores de Lombroso's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Godfredo Gau in the 23rd minute. A nice corner shot did that Uriel Ferrer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Henk Jonckers quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Godfredo Gau's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Henk Jonckers firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 33rd minute of the match, Lionel-Andrés Messi got a very nice opportunity to score, but Henk Jonckers was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Henk Jonckers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lionel-Andrés Messi in the 34th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lionel-Andrés Messi got free with Henk Jonckers in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, KV Schoonwater's Henk Jonckers got control of the ball when Lionel-Andrés Messi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sem Roekeloos kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Defensores de Lombroso's Amadeo Raebert was substituted for Roman Riquelme. In the 55th minute Alek De Hondt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Paulin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, KV Schoonwater's Alek De Hondt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Denis Paulin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Lionel-Andrés Messi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Defensores de Lombroso's supporters rose to their feet, but Lionel-Andrés Messi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henk Jonckers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lucas Van Geertruyden made in the 68th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Frederick Demeester. Denis Paulin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frederick Demeester in the 70th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, KV Schoonwater's goal looked a bit too open when Federico Pirro came free, but Henk Jonckers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 72 played minutes Defensores de Lombroso got a freekick which was hit by Lionel-Andrés Messi. Pino Van Hinnendaels could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Denis Paulin made a huge save. Lionel-Andrés Messi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henk Jonckers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. The corner led to Defensores de Lombroso's Valentín Barco getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. KV Schoonwater's Henk Jonckers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celso Sauveur in the 82nd minute of play. Lucas Van Geertruyden made in the 86th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Defensores de Lombroso's Federico Pirro. Henk Jonckers came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Defensores de Lombroso's Federico Pirro. But to his dismay, Federico Pirro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 95th minute Alek De Hondt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Paulin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Godfredo Gau kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Defensores de Lombroso had played much better football throughout.
