In the 30thth minute of the game Marek Brayford who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Venezuela's Dorio Laje was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 32 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Andrejs Upītis was slow to take the kick. During this time Astreix&ObelixSoccer's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Andrejs Upītis almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but U21 Venezuela's Dorio Laje did a great save. Ian Little was a little too slow when Roger Bannister got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 35th minute. The score was now 1-1. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Sacha Lilley put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Dorio Laje. Astreix&ObelixSoccer were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after U21 Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Andrejs Upītis took the corner. The corner ended in Andrejs Upītis almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but U21 Venezuela's Dorio Laje did a great save. Astreix&ObelixSoccer's Frank McLintock was substituted for Marek Brayford. The U21 Venezuela players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Astreix&ObelixSoccer were winning 1-2.

Emeterio Somalo hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. 73 minutes into the game, Andrea Maldini threw the ball into play from the sideline. Astreix&ObelixSoccer's Manuel Viñaspre quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 81 minutes into the match, Astreix&ObelixSoccer's goal looked a bit too open when Roger Bannister came free, but Ian Little reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ian Little made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ximun Zaldos in the 88th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Frank McLintock managed to get in a good position for a shot. Astreix&ObelixSoccer's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank McLintock was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dorio Laje breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
