The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Granville's goalkeeper Andrea Cellucci, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 4th minute of the game Arnaldo Peter made a throw-in which Arnaldo Peter played forward. Granville's Andrea Cellucci played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrzej Badanowski in the 6th minute of play. Cecilio Lastur made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mauro Elazar in the 8th minute. Mauro Elazar's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 9thth minute, Cecilio Lastur skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Mauro Elazar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Cecilio Lastur made a huge save. A collision led to Granville getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Generoso Eder hit a great ball. When Jorge Martínez fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Talleres's protests and gave Jorge Martínez a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Talleres getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Generoso Eder hit a great ball. 29 minutes into the match, Mauro Elazar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cecilio Lastur. Talleres's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mauro Elazar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Serafino Urko's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cecilio Lastur firmly grabbed it by the left post. Mauro Elazar struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Cecilio Lastur didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Granville. Serafino Urko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Cecilio Lastur made a huge save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Talleres made a substitution. Lukita Modrić replaced Sergiu Bulencea. Cecilio Lastur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Elazar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cecilio Lastur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Elazar, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 61st minute Julio Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cecilio Lastur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cecilio Lastur came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Granville's Julio Cruz. But to his dismay, Julio Cruz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Granville's Rene Barea was substituted for Serafino Urko. Andrea Cellucci made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrzej Badanowski in the 70th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Talleres's Andrzej Badanowski ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Andrea Cellucci. Andrea Cellucci yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. 80 minutes into the match, Granville's goalkeeper Andrea Cellucci had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Andrzej Badanowski. 94 minutes into the match, Chi-Chi Branca notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Talleres's Cecilio Lastur. Cecilio Lastur was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Granville's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
