Edinho Pirani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Olof Vestlund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, CAN ERZURUM's Pan Wei Quan got a free kick in the 29th minute. 31 minutes into the game, Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's Bruno-Henrique Orange nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joar Scheie made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruno-Henrique Orange in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joar Scheie saved CAN ERZURUM from getting behind. In the 35th minute Bruno-Henrique Orange shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joar Scheie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusébio Orange in the 40th minute of play forced CAN ERZURUM's goalkeeper Joar Scheie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sven-Olof Vestlund's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edinho Pirani read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Mehmet Şefik Karadağ hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sven-Olof Vestlund got free with Edinho Pirani in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

CAN ERZURUM's Arda Turan was substituted for Mehmet Poyraz. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zico Orange to strike the kick off in the second half. Baba Popescu kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
