The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Mondorf Forest's Ollie von Etzdorf got a free kick in the 2nd minute. With a little luck, Mondorf Forest's Martin Steffen got control of the ball when Goren Baños tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of 1947 FC booed when Mondorf Forest was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Linus Göbl didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mondorf Forest's zone, Andrzej Mlekodaj stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Steffen came out of the goal and Andrzej Mlekodaj tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Armando Fasoli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Martin Steffen made a huge save. In the 11th minute 1947 FC were awarded a corner. Cristobal Baumar went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 12th minute, Stefan Horowitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The 1947 FC fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when 1947 FC's Armando Fasoli looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Armando Fasoli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Martin Steffen made a huge save. Goren Baños hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. 22 minutes into the match, Edmondo Venditti notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of 1947 FC's Brian Johnson. Brian Johnson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Martin Steffen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Armando Fasoli in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute Andrzej Mlekodaj shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Steffen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stefan Horowitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Goren Baños kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 32nd minute Linus Göbl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brian Johnson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 34 played minutes, 1947 FC's Jonathan Enmanuel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Martin Steffen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in 1947 FC reached it. Martin Steffen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Goren Baños, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 38th minute Linus Göbl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brian Johnson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristobal Baumar in the 52nd minute of play forced Mondorf Forest's goalkeeper Martin Steffen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edmondo Venditti came free with the goalkeeper in the 58th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Brian Johnson could save by the left post. Martin Steffen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andrzej Mlekodaj went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 63rd minute, Linus Göbl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 65 minutes of play, 1947 FC's Armando Fasoli made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Martin Steffen was left in no man's land by his defense there! Martin Steffen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Goren Baños, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Armando Fasoli in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Martin Steffen saved Mondorf Forest from getting behind. 80 minutes into the match, Mondorf Forest's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Fasoli came free, but Martin Steffen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 1947 FC's Paco Jertec was substituted for Jonathan Enmanuel. A collision led to 1947 FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Cristobal Baumar hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Armando Fasoli in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Martin Steffen saved Mondorf Forest from getting behind. A collision led to 1947 FC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Jordan Poole hit a great ball. Ruben Schmit received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Brian Johnson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of 1947 FC booed when Mondorf Forest was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruben Schmit didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee ended the match the 1947 FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
