Nabucodonosor Llorente kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. 5 minutes into the game, Piara Batistuta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Rubén Urruti was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Piara Batistuta in the 8th minute of play forced Sitges's goalkeeper Rubén Urruti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Bergeikers's goalkeeper Hernani Messias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mauricio Salazar. In the 21st minute, Eelco Ricksen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hernani Messias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Øyvind Rovik in the 24th minute of play. When Sitges's Baldemar Folch in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Rubén Urruti stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Piara Batistuta's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Piara Batistuta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bergeikers's supporters rose to their feet, but Piara Batistuta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rubén Urruti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sitges's Rubén Urruti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Piara Batistuta in the 46th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lorenz De Paula stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Silviu Agachi hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Piara Batistuta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Piara Batistuta's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Rubén Urruti firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 59th minute Kevin Johnson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hernani Messias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Marco Millrick kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rubén Urruti. That made the score 1-2 in the 64 minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lorenz De Paula during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 93 played minutes Sitges got a freekick which was hit by Nabucodonosor Llorente. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Sitges players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
