The MLM fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Orlo Freire should have stopped the shot. Heimko Schober fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlo Freire having to interfere. In the 31st match minute, MLM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bertol Elias to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd match minute, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heimko Schober to maneuver through the defense. If Candido Valerón had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute of the match Cristos Huarte sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Michael Schick skillfully saved the ball. Michael Schick made an important save on a dangerous shot by Candido Valerón in the 39th minute. Charro Alavedra charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Charro Alavedra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 46 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for MLM! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

In the 55thth minute of the game Fritz Nettig who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MLM's Orlo Freire was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Orlo Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roland Täger in the 58th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fritz Nettig in the 60th minute of play forced MLM's goalkeeper Orlo Freire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of MLM booed when SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heimko Schober didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute of the match Adolfo Camara sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Michael Schick skillfully saved the ball. Orlo Freire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fritz Nettig, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. When Gartzea Vera fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MLM's protests and gave Gartzea Vera a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to MLM getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Gartzea Vera hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the match, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Candido Valerón came free, but Michael Schick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Michael Schick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Candido Valerón, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 88 played minutes MLM got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Camara. Heimko Schober struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Orlo Freire didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.. Michael Schick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Candido Valerón, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. In the 96th minute, Patxi Climent left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MLM fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
