After 4 played minutes CAN ERZURUM got a freekick which was hit by Rolando Betadur. Paolo Diaz, 5 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Olof Vestlund in the 6th minute of play forced Samagara Real - DMZ's goalkeeper Celsinho Bueno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Sven-Olof Vestlund came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the CAN ERZURUM fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sven-Olof Vestlund couldn't finish the play. CAN ERZURUM's Rolando Betadur quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Romeu de Lara, made in the 11th minute of the game. CAN ERZURUM were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after Samagara Real - DMZ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mehmet Poyraz took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Mehmet Poyraz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Celsinho Bueno quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Roman Sanduru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Joar Scheie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Roman Sanduru ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joar Scheie was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 31 minutes into the match, Samagara Real - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Mehmet Şefik Karadağ came free, but Celsinho Bueno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celsinho Bueno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Olof Vestlund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes into the match, Sven-Olof Vestlund had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Celsinho Bueno. Samagara Real - DMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sven-Olof Vestlund was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 41 minutes into the match, Samagara Real - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Olof Vestlund came free, but Celsinho Bueno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

CAN ERZURUM's Arda Turan was substituted for Mehmet Poyraz. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sven-Olof Vestlund made a kick off. Sven-Olof Vestlund's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celsinho Bueno read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. CAN ERZURUM's Baba Popescu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Celsinho Bueno in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 57th minute, CAN ERZURUM's Sven-Olof Vestlund dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. In the 59th match minute, Samagara Real - DMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roman Sanduru to maneuver through the defense. CAN ERZURUM's Sven-Olof Vestlund got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sven-Olof Vestlund got free with Celsinho Bueno in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sven-Olof Vestlund could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Celsinho Bueno made a huge save. The CAN ERZURUM fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joar Scheie should have stopped the shot. In the 96th minute Gilmar Lopez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joar Scheie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 97th minute of the game. One of Samagara Real - DMZ:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of CAN ERZURUM:s goal. Sven-Olof Vestlund shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After a defensive mix-up in Samagara Real - DMZ's zone, Sven-Olof Vestlund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celsinho Bueno came out of the goal and Sven-Olof Vestlund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The CAN ERZURUM supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CAN ERZURUM would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
