An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriele Batistuta in the 6th minute of play forced Marlin FC's goalkeeper Juan Carlos Alvarez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Marlin FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriele Batistuta came free, but Juan Carlos Alvarez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lucas Martínez Quarta kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Reynaldo Duarte's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Camilo Salvidor read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. Camilo Salvidor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yin Yang in the 13th minute. In the 18th minute, Gabriele Batistuta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juan Carlos Alvarez was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Camilo Salvidor made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Dionisio Panpili sent off a good shot on target. Fermin Arixo got a throw-in 23 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Teobaldo Cilio. Menchu FC's Camilo Salvidor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dionisio Panpili in the 25th minute of play. If Uriel Gorri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Camilo Salvidor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dionisio Panpili's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriele Batistuta in the 35th minute of play forced Marlin FC's goalkeeper Juan Carlos Alvarez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Camilo Salvidor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teobaldo Cilio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Menchu FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 48th minute, when Teobaldo Cilio scored to the left of an out of position Camilo Salvidor, making the score, 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dionisio Panpili was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Menchu FC booed when Marlin FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yin Yang didn't get a good kick on the ball. Camilo Salvidor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teobaldo Cilio in the 54th minute of play. Marlin FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 56th minute, when Gabriele Batistuta scored to the left of an out of position Juan Carlos Alvarez, making the score, 1-2. A sloppy throw-in by Jeronimo Sotil in the 63rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Menchu FC's Basarab Jupân. In the 69th minute Teobaldo Cilio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camilo Salvidor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dionisio Panpili in the 74th minute of play forced Menchu FC's goalkeeper Camilo Salvidor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute of the match Marlin FC got a corner. Menchu FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Reynaldo Duarte ran over to the corner to take the kick. Marlin FC's Reynaldo Duarte was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Camilo Salvidor in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Juan Carlos Alvarez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriele Batistuta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camilo Salvidor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yin Yang in the 82nd minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Menchu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Yin Yang came free, but Camilo Salvidor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Camilo Salvidor didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yin Yang went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gaston Firmo got free with Juan Carlos Alvarez in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Menchu FC were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Marlin FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Armando Roland took the corner. If Gaston Firmo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 94 played minutes Marlin FC got a freekick which was hit by Reynaldo Duarte. Juan Carlos Alvarez made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Gaston Firmo sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Menchu FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Gaston Firmo hit a great ball. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
