If Emiliano Velasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernando Selatse made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Torbjørn Trondsen in the 21st minute of play. Emiliano Velasco received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Hermann Hesse came out and tried to block the shot, but Emiliano Velasco slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 22nd minute. After having played for 29 minutes, Emiliano Velasco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Despidida AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emiliano Velasco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torbjørn Trondsen in the 30th minute of play forced Despidida AFC's goalkeeper Fernando Selatse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Deportivo Popolizio FBC booed when Despidida AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oliver Rizzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute of the match Cris Ronaldo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fernando Selatse skillfully saved the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Hermann Hesse breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fernando Selatse stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rius Mascaran's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Araoz Solanos made in the 89th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Rius Mascaran. Deportivo Popolizio FBC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
