An unexpectedly hard shot by Hamílton das Neves in the 11th minute of play forced MINEIROS's goalkeeper Thommy Jadis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th minute, Smail Larbi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Erivaldo Romero took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thommy Jadis. Thommy Jadis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 19 minutes into the match, A. A. Carioca 【CIMZ】's goalkeeper Cipriano Abreu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mário Maradona. Thommy Jadis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erivaldo Romero in the 20th minute of play. Thommy Jadis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hamílton das Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 26th match minute, A. A. Carioca 【CIMZ】 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jari Jaakkola to maneuver through the defense. Erivaldo Romero took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Thommy Jadis. Thommy Jadis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mário Maradona to strike the kick off in the second half. When the match clock showed 53 minutes, the score became 1-5 when Giuseppe Marques sped through MINEIROS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Thommy Jadis. MINEIROS's Mário Maradona got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A. A. Carioca 【CIMZ】 made a substitution. Casper Granqvist replaced Hamílton das Neves. Cipriano Abreu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mário Maradona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thommy Jadis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giuseppe Marques in the 63rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Mário Maradona managed to get in a good position for a shot. MINEIROS's supporters rose to their feet, but Mário Maradona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
