A sloppy throw-in by Kaj Smitt in the 28th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by The Nerd Herd's Odin Vangen. A collision led to SK Mons getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Leif Olofsson hit a great ball. After 42 minutes, Odin Vangen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The Nerd Herd and the SK Mons players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of SK Mons booed when The Nerd Herd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Odin Vangen didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the match, The Nerd Herd's goal looked a bit too open when Steven Puttemans came free, but Lars Bergo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nils-Christian Taksdal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Steven Puttemans was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, The Nerd Herd's Marian Banas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Connor Osmond narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 54th minute The Nerd Herd were awarded a corner. Ole-Einar Indergård went to the cornerflag to take it. Connor Osmond showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sondre Lillegård in the 61st minute of the match. Alf-Inge Låstad recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SK Mons's Tony Degraef was substituted for Peng Xu. Leif Olofsson hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marian Banas in the 73rd minute of play forced SK Mons's goalkeeper Connor Osmond to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 74 played minutes SK Mons got a freekick which was hit by Di Ping Jun. The audience was convinced that Marian Banas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Connor Osmond was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Alf-Inge Låstad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tony Degraef who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 89thth minute tested the skills of Lars Bergo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 90th minute, Nils-Christian Taksdal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Leif Olofsson in the 91st minute really tested Lars Bergo's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alf-Inge Låstad during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cesar Vrijdags, 94 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 95th match minute, The Nerd Herd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alf-Inge Låstad to maneuver through the defense. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SK Mons walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
