An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvaro Ezkerra in the 18th minute of play forced Fuerzas Armadas's goalkeeper Imanol Rosas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 19 minutes, Canor Yeste mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fuerzas Armadas and the El retorno del Pincha players grew even worse after the yellow card. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

During the 57th minute of the match Canor Yeste completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Canor Yeste a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 57th minute, Canor Yeste hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Fuerzas Armadas's Fidel Labarra got a free kick in the 63rd minute. 65 minutes into the match, Fuerzas Armadas's goal looked a bit too open when Clodoveo Filipo came free, but Imanol Rosas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
