In the 2nd minute, Charl Anthonis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 4 played minutes, CE LAJEADENSE RS's Caetano Saad shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Iker Carabajal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in CE LAJEADENSE RS reached it. In the 6th minute Leo Iigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Carabajal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leo Iigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iker Carabajal having to interfere. Purple Talents's Iker Carabajal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leo Iigo in the 15th minute of play. Flavinho Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Qiu Feng Guo, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Purple Talents's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrão Prestes came free, but Iker Carabajal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fre De Beer in the 20th minute of play forced CE LAJEADENSE RS's goalkeeper Flavinho Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, CE LAJEADENSE RS's goal looked a bit too open when Qiu Feng Guo came free, but Flavinho Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 32 minutes into the game, Jhon Arias threw the ball into play from the sideline. Purple Talents's Christof Bernage quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After some careless play in the Purple Talents defense, Leo Iigo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iker Carabajal. The Purple Talents fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iker Carabajal should have stopped the shot. Flavinho Reis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Qiu Feng Guo's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. The supporters of CE LAJEADENSE RS booed when Purple Talents was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hever Plasencia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute of the match Leonel Martins sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Iker Carabajal skillfully saved the ball. Perry Van den Sande hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. 45 minutes into the game, CE LAJEADENSE RS's Caetano Saad nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Iker Carabajal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The Purple Talents players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. CE LAJEADENSE RS were winning 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leo Iigo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Iker Carabajal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Saad in the 52nd minute of play. Leo Iigo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Iker Carabajal made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leo Iigo got free with Iker Carabajal in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of CE LAJEADENSE RS booed when Purple Talents was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christof Bernage didn't get a good kick on the ball. 80 minutes in the game Leonel Martins did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Caetano Saad. With a little luck, Purple Talents's Iker Carabajal got control of the ball when Leo Iigo tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedrão Prestes in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iker Carabajal saved Purple Talents from getting behind. Leo Iigo scored 2-4 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iker Carabajal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
