FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's Zafer Hürsel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastian Käller in the 12th minute of play. Peter Snell's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilhelm Galle read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th minute FC Zenit Saint Petersburg were awarded a corner. Johannes Botvidsson went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Johannes Botvidsson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Wilhelm Galle quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 21st minute Sebastian Käller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zafer Hürsel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kind of Blue's Sebastian Käller managed to work through FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Sebastian Käller dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Wilhelm Galle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Snell in the 27th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Sebastian Käller ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zafer Hürsel was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. 40 minutes into the game, Sebastian Käller cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Zafer Hürsel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 44th minute, Anastasios Pallini got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 44 minutes of play, Kind of Blue's Anastasios Pallini made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zafer Hürsel was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sebastian Käller stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Zhuo Ke Le cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Zafer Hürsel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Zafer Hürsel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Käller, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 61st minute, Sebastian Käller left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kind of Blue fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-7. Zafer Hürsel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Käller in the 69th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Håkan Mild hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Zenit Saint Petersburg's Gabriel Söderström was substituted for Johannes Botvidsson. Kind of Blue's Jonny Lagerberg was substituted for Anastasios Pallini. In the 73rd match minute, Kind of Blue was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Håkan Mild to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emanuel Emander in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilhelm Galle prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 80th of the match, Sebastian Käller tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Zafer Hürsel got in the way and made a wonderful save. Sebastian Käller might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zafer Hürsel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sebastian Käller ran back to his position shaking his head. Jörgen Ekeroth hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Östen Högman kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zafer Hürsel. That made the score 1-8 in the 92 minute of play. Kind of Blue's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
