The audience was convinced that Mohamed Basso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marian Galaska was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. 19 minutes into the game, Mohamed Basso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Capibaribe Stars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mohamed Basso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Mohamed Basso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Powiśle Warszawa's Marian Galaska played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mohamed Basso in the 33rd minute of play. Dawid Molski kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Marian Galaska didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mohamed Basso went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. After recieving a nice pass, Capibaribe Stars's Wilton Fontes tried to score from far away in the 46th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After the first half Capibaribe Stars were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wawrzyniec Sawicki made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Powiśle Warszawa's goalkeeper Marian Galaska had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jarl Rossebø. Marian Galaska was out of position in the 51 minute of play, and Jarl Rossebø capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jarl Rossebø really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. Capibaribe Stars's Pan Zhi Peng quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Cezary Ikalewicz, made in the 55th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mohamed Basso in the 62nd minute of play forced Powiśle Warszawa's goalkeeper Marian Galaska to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Powiśle Warszawa defense, Mohamed Basso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marian Galaska. The Powiśle Warszawa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marian Galaska should have stopped the shot. Mohamed Basso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marian Galaska having to make a save. When Ryan Giggs fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Powiśle Warszawa's protests and gave Ryan Giggs a yellow card for diving instead. Radomil Haszczak made in the 76th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Wawrzyniec Sawicki. 80 minutes into the game, Mohamed Basso recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marian Galaska. Mohamed Basso showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-9. In the 88th minute Mohamed Basso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marian Galaska saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, Powiśle Warszawa's goal looked a bit too open when Mohamed Basso came free, but Marian Galaska reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Powiśle Warszawa's Radomil Haszczak got a free kick in the 94th minute. 97 minutes in the game Wilton Fontes got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal.

When the match was over Capibaribe Stars could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Powiśle Warszawa throughout the match.
