The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stefan Szarmach during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Boca Juniors Buenos Aires's Stefan Szarmach got a free kick in the 31st minute. Wiktor Iwanowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jamie Haelemans, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 35th minute of the match İstanbul Başakşehir F.K. got a corner. Boca Juniors Buenos Aires's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kenney Coveliers ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Kenney Coveliers got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Wiktor Iwanowski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Milosz Kicia got free with Georges-Philippe Haemers in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ziemowit Bartochowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Georges-Philippe Haemers having to interfere. Adam Roekeloos's late challenge caught a Boca Juniors Buenos Aires's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adam Roekeloos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 46thth minute of the game Jamie Haelemans who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Boca Juniors Buenos Aires's Wiktor Iwanowski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Milosz Kicia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Georges-Philippe Haemers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edip Aktaşoğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Georges-Philippe Haemers having to interfere. 93 minutes into the game, Boca Juniors Buenos Aires's Milosz Kicia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Georges-Philippe Haemers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. When the referee ended the match the Boca Juniors Buenos Aires players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
