Ferruccio Borrelli came out of the goal and Mijat Perović tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 16 minutes into the game, Tiburones Rojos's Feliciano Sesuldo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mašan Pupovac made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 19 minutes into the match, U21 Montenegro's goalkeeper Mašan Pupovac had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Feliciano Sesuldo. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robert Haaland in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mašan Pupovac prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mašan Pupovac had great luck who in the 21stth minute grab hold of the ball when Robert Haaland from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lale Mijanović in the 22nd minute of play forced Tiburones Rojos's goalkeeper Ferruccio Borrelli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mašan Pupovac showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natalio Quico in the 23rd minute of the match. Ferruccio Borrelli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ðukan Vučetić in the 29th minute of play. Robert Haaland struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Mašan Pupovac didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tiburones Rojos. The ball had pretty good speed, but Mašan Pupovac firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 42nd minute, Paulino Lucian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to U21 Montenegro getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Lale Mijanović hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Tiburones Rojos's Bonifacio Monico was substituted for Rigoberto Araoz. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Robert Haaland in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mašan Pupovac saved U21 Montenegro from getting behind. Bonifacio Monico struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Mašan Pupovac didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tiburones Rojos. Tiburones Rojos's Fernando Mel was substituted for Fausto Egoitz. Mašan Pupovac showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aristides Urtsin in the 91st minute of the match. U21 Montenegro's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
