Cecilio Tristan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Elpidio Beat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cecilio Tristan in the 7th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Emanuel Aurre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vânderson Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ariel Artaldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Slawomir Turak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 28 minutes of play, 25 de Abril Futbol Club's Slawomir Turak made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hugo Orlando Gatti was left in no man's land by his defense there! 34 minutes into the match, 25 de Abril Futbol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Vânderson Barbosa came free, but Elpidio Beat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute, Vânderson Barbosa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Abuba Akotonon FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 44th minute, Robt Paulet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elpidio Beat made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Vânderson Barbosa sent off a good shot on target. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

After 54 played minutes 25 de Abril Futbol Club got a freekick which was hit by Severiano Oliviero. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cecilio Tristan in the 58th minute of play forced 25 de Abril Futbol Club's goalkeeper Elpidio Beat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Genaro Elivareo came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Abuba Akotonon FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Genaro Elivareo couldn't finish the play. 25 de Abril Futbol Club's Israel Reno was substituted for Leon Fresco. Vânderson Barbosa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elpidio Beat read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. The supporters of Abuba Akotonon FC booed when 25 de Abril Futbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Slawomir Turak didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 de Abril Futbol Club's Paolo Flores was substituted for Slawomir Turak. Slawomir Turak hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Elpidio Beat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cecilio Tristan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cecilio Tristan in the 75th minute of play forced 25 de Abril Futbol Club's goalkeeper Elpidio Beat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 de Abril Futbol Club's Elpidio Beat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vânderson Barbosa in the 76th minute of play. Elpidio Beat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Genaro Elivareo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 80 minutes into the match, Abuba Akotonon FC's goalkeeper Hugo Orlando Gatti had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paolo Flores. Elpidio Beat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genaro Elivareo, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 90th minute Vânderson Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Beat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abuba Akotonon FC's Hugo Orlando Gatti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Urtungo in the 93rd minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Abuba Akotonon FC had played much better football throughout.
