A collision led to 1910 Di Blåe getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Adam Åberg hit a great ball. When Jörn Svartengren came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Inter de Guayaquil FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jörn Svartengren couldn't finish the play. Jörn Svartengren scored 4-0 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Torbjörn Helander, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ivar Axelsson made the kick off in the second half. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Jakub Ziombkowski was substituted for Hernan Coca. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Éric Cantona was substituted for Jörn Svartengren. A nice corner shot did that Salvador Musacchio got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Torbjörn Helander quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Torbjörn Helander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Éric Cantona, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Éric Cantona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Torbjörn Helander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Pompiliu Cristian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sebastian Hellkvist acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 83rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Johnny Ahlberg. 85 minutes into the match, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Éric Cantona sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Torbjörn Helander narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ivar Axelsson hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Torbjörn Helander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Éric Cantona, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Inter de Guayaquil FC's attentive Hector Andriesens managed to snatch the ball when Erik Odman made a throw-in in the 89th minute of the game. Torbjörn Helander came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Inter de Guayaquil FC's Éric Cantona.
