The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Uwe Birmes was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Junior Quintana in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cido Meireles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Uwe Birmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kryspin Cupial made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Helge Almkvist in the 61st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Félicien Boidin got free with Cido Meireles in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 64 minutes had been played when some careless play by Palmeiras de Plantão's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Faudel Dagorne was slow to take the kick. During this time Cosa nostra Lyon's players had a chance to rest. The Cosa nostra Lyon supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cosa nostra Lyon would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
